What material can be used to customize this product?Almost any. Like all Fittes floor vents, this minimalist framed floor vent is compatible with tile, hardwood, carpet, vinyl, laminate, cork, and more. For Lite models, the surface material must be between ⅛” and ¾” thick.

My floor is already installed. Can I use this product?
Yes! With the insert, there is no customization needed.

Will this product work with my HVAC system?
This HVAC-compatible framed floor vent is airflow tested and designed to work with most standard systems, but it’s always a good idea to consult your HVAC specialist to ensure that this product is right for yours.

Can I use this vent on floors, walls, and ceilings?
The minimalist Framed Floor Vent + Insert [Lite] is designed for heavy materials like tile and wood. It works on floors, and walls that are tiled or wood panelled, but is not compatible with drywall and would not work on ceilings.

When you say easy to install, just how easy is it?
The Framed model comes with an insert already in place— just drop it into your duct opening and you’re done. If in the future you ever want to customize the vent, you can easily swap out the insert for a piece of your own flooring material.

Do you make custom sizes or colors?
No, we don’t offer custom sizes or colors.

Can I customize the insert at a later stage?
Yes! Changed your mind or your flooring? The insert in this floor vent works as a temporary solution if you’re not ready to install your flooring yet—or as a permanent option if you choose to keep it that way.

Can the insert be customized?
The Floor Insert [Lite] is not designed for customization.

Can I paint the insert to match my flooring?
You can, but we don’t recommend it as paint tends to wear off quickly on floor surfaces. If you do choose to paint it, we recommend using a primer and an appropriate paint for durability.
